The economy of the Tort-Kol Rural Municipality is primarily based on agriculture, livestock farming, trade, and service industries. Agriculture and Production
Agriculture is the leading sector of the economy of the Tort-Kol Rural Municipality. The total area of agricultural land amounts to 15,342.98 hectares, including 2,076.5 hectares of irrigated land, 4,113.5 hectares of rain-fed land, 2,770 hectares of hayfields, and 5,227 hectares of pastures.
The municipality produces grain crops, potatoes, vegetables, and fruit products. Agriculture remains one of the main sources of employment and income for local residents.
