On June 6, 2026, a ceremonial opening of a modern rice processing and packaging logistics center took place in Tort-Kol Rural Municipality, Uzgen District.
The event was attended by Amankan Kenzhebaev, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in Osh Region, Kanybek Appasov, Head of the Uzgen District State Administration (Akim), local government representatives, residents, and farmers.
During the ceremony, speakers highlighted the importance of developing agricultural processing infrastructure and emphasized that the new facility will help increase the value of locally produced rice and improve market access for farmers.
Project Information
Construction of the logistics center began in August 2025 and was carried out by Sansyzbay LLC.
The total project cost amounted to 14.79 million Kyrgyz soms.
Funding sources included:
- Osh Regional Development Fund – 10.225 million soms;
- Uzgen District Development Fund – 2.565 million soms;
- Local budget – 2 million soms.
In addition, modern equipment worth 6.8 million soms was purchased through the CASA-1000 Project implemented by ARIS.
Benefits for Local Farmers
The logistics center is equipped with modern technology and has the capacity to clean, process, and vacuum-package up to 5 tons of rice per day.
With the launch of the facility, local farmers will be able to market their rice as a finished, high-quality product rather than as raw material, increasing competitiveness and profitability.
The project is expected to contribute to agricultural development, create new employment opportunities, increase farmers’ incomes, and strengthen the economic potential of the region.
